Bolivar, TN | April 15, 2021 On March 19, 2021, Choate Engineering Performance announced that they had selected Bolivar as the home to their manufacturing operations. Choate, the manufacturer of diesel engines and engine components, is slated to invest over $8 million over the course of the next five years to retrofit and make improvements to an existing 155,000 square-foot-facility and create 100 jobs.
At the time of the announcement, Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic stated, “It’s our time to make an investment into them (Choate). We need to do our best to fill those jobs with people from Bolivar and Hardeman County.” Today’s visit to Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) demonstrates the totality of the commitment that the city and Choate Engineering Performance have to each other and to Hardeman County. Choate Engineering Performance Founder Cass Choate and his team, along with Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic, met with the senior class of BCHS today to provide information about the company, diesel manufacturing operations, and the immediate positions they have available at the new manufacturing facility. Members of the senior class are encouraged to tour the Choate Engineering Performance facility and to apply for available positions.
“We are committed to Bolivar and citizens of Hardeman County. We are eager to fill our available positions and to begin training new employees,” said Mr. Choate. At this time, Choate is seeking to fill several positions including engine builder, disassembly technician, machinist, diesel technician, and apprentice diesel technician. Most positions do not require previous experience in the industry, although a working knowledge of the diesel industry is preferred.
