In front of a packed house full of family, colleagues, and friends, Michael Jones was officially sworn in as Bolivar's Chief of Police. In addition, four (4) new police officers took the oath of office pledging to protect and serve the citizens of Bolivar; and four additional promotions were bestowed.
Promotions included those of Assistant Chief Eddie Henson, Investigator Chris Burkeen, Captain Gary McTizic, and Sergeant Allen Sides. New police officers taking the oath of office included Greg Brown, Nick Ellison, Chris Deming, and Chris Wilkerson.
Municipal Court Clerk Paula Wilhite and Assistant Chief David Sipes were both honored for their dedication to the department and their 30+ years of service to the citizens of Bolivar.
Mayor McTizic thanked all of the Bolivar Police Department staff for their dedication, loyalty, and continued service to the citizens of Bolivar.
