We are the home to big town music with a small town vibe.  Enjoy a wealth of musical genres throughout the summer months presented by DEVCO, the Hardeman County Music Commission, and Open Air Events.  All events are provided  free for your enjoyment and pleasure! Bring you lawn chairs to enjoy music under the stars!

The City of Bolivar offers an abundance of specialty shopping boutiques for our visitors, both on the historic court square and scattered throughout the town.  We are sure to have something to please everyone!

We boast an abundance of restaurants to tempt any palate.  Restaurants in and around Bolivar offer everything from the best cut steaks to down home southern cooking and everything in between!

From May through October, the historic court square springs to life!  All within walking distance, you will find great restaurants, a movie theater, local shopping boutiques, and more.  Be sure to check out Music on the Square every Friday night and Open Air Events on the first Saturday evenings!  Don't miss our seasonal festival events on our Facebook page!

Bolivar is proud to be the home of the historic Luez Theater.  Purchased and renovated by the Bolivar Downtown Development Corporation (DEVCO), the historic theater re-opened in December 2018 as a multi-purpose venue hosting first-run movies, live music events, and other special events. 

 

Be sure to check out a movie in this historic venue on your visit to Bolivar! 

Farmer's Market

The Bolivar Farmer's Market is located on Lafayette Street just off the historic court square.  The market is open every Tuesday and Saturday during the months of May through October.

Theater

Join us for live theater productions at the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC)!  The theater provides a wide range of artistic productions to enrich the entire community.  For more information on volunteer opportunities, memberships, and local productions, please visit the HCAC website!

Whether you want to take a trip down memory lane or just learn more about Bolivar's rich history, local historians have developed a website dedicated to telling the stories of Bolivar.  For more information, please visit their website which includes a historic Bolivar driving tour!

outdoors

For the outdoorsman in your life, we offer fishing at Pleasant Run Creek Park.  Bring your own boat, canoe, or kayak to enjoy Sand Beach Lake!  Visitors can also enjoy a peaceful ride down the scenic Hatchie River.   While you are here, you may also want to take advantage of the hiking trails and arboretum at Pleasant Run Creek Park and the hiking trails at Sand Beach Lake .
