Mrs. Cathy Mayfield was honored on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, by the Tennessee Historical Commission for her work in historic preservation. Mrs. Mayfield, Grants Administrator for the City of Bolivar, was awarded a Special Commendation for Distinguished Service as the Certified Local Government Coordinator for the City of Bolivar.
The LUEZ Theater, DEVCO, and City of Bolivar Historic Zoning Commission also received a special commendation for the accurate restoration of the LUEZ Theater meeting the criteria of the National Park Services Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation.
"I want to thank Mrs. Mayfield for her service to the citizens and the City of Bolivar. Her passion for Bolivar and Hardeman County history is unparalled making her a true champion for historic preservation and an asset to our city," said Mayor Julian McTizic.
