Hog Addiction Claims Top Prize at 2023 Bolivar BBQ Blowout

Bolivar, TN | October 31, 2023: Hog Addiction, a new team to the Bolivar BBQ Blowout & Music Festival rolled into town ready to cook. The team took the grand prize in each of the three pro division categories gaining them the title of Bolivar Main Street Grand Champion. Winners in each of the pro divisions are listed below.

United Porker Smokers - Grand Champion Backyard Division

In the backyard competition, United Pork Smokers took the Grand Champion Mayor's Award home for 2023. The backyard division included competitions in the categories of chicken, pulled pork, and ribs. Winners in each category are listed below:

This year the Bolivar BBQ Blowout and Music Festival also included a carnival, food trucks around the square, and multiple musical concerts. Headlining Friday night's events was the Courtney Little Band. Taking the stage on Saturday were Southern Rose Band , Stax Music Academy, and Devin Crutcher. The Bolivar Youth Cheerleaders and Total Transformation Line Dance & Fitness groups also performed on Saturday.

Local celebrity, Brigadier General Warner "Nubbin" A. Ross, II, Tennessee's 77th Adjutant General, was honored for his service to our community, our state, and our country on Friday evening. He was presented with a resolution from the legislature by State Representative Johnny Shaw and Mr. Tommy Perkins(representing State Senator Page Walley) while Mayor McTizic presented the Hometown Hero Award to General Ross.
