Mayor McTizic Extends Local State of Emergency

Many of you are aware that Governor Bill Lee has extended the stay at home order for all Tennesseans. In consideration of the governor’s actions, I am extending the State of Emergency declaration for the City of Bolivar as well.

All previously stated provisions, including occupancy restrictions, and the provision of special shopping hours for those assisting the elderly and disabled and for those with minor children remain in full effect throughout the declaration period.

I want to thank the citizens of Bolivar, in advance, for your continued adherence to these guidelines. As your mayor, a husband, and the father of four children, I know and understand that these are difficult and trying times. I respectfully request that you exercise caution as you participate in essential activities and take the necessary precautions to keep you and your families safe and healthy. I also ask that you exercise patience with retail and other workers charged with maintaining their business’s adherence to these declarations.

Please join with me in praying that our city emerges from this pandemic stronger and better than ever. I ask that you take a moment to lift up those who are currently unemployed, our local businesses, first responders and health care workers, and the many people on the front lines of this epidemic.

Mayor Julian A. McTizic, Sr.
